TEAM CBT is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy on steriods! It was developed by Dr. David Burns, a pioneer in the development of CBT, and author of “Feeling Good”, which has sold over 5 million copies, and has been translated into over 30 languages.

What is TEAM-CBT?

TEAM-CBT brings together the most powerful elements of cognitive behavioral and motivational therapies in a clear and highly effective approach to help depression, anxiety, addiction, and relationship difficulties for lasting health. Developed by Dr. David Burns, MD, a pioneer in the field of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, TEAM-CBT honors where a person is stuck, and then teaches powerful tools to change distorted beliefs on a gut level, allowing the person to feel better and use those same tools themselves whenever needed, to stay well.

TEAM stands for:

T = Testing: I accurately monitor how effective each session is and how you feel about each session, to make sure that you are getting the very best therapy and getting the results you want. I believe in keeping myself accountable to being the best therapist I can be for you.

E = Empathy: I believe it is critically important to connect deeply with each of my clients, and use effective and sensitively honed methods to do so.

A = Assessment of Resistance: Using powerful motivational tools based on 40 years of research, I honor your values, clarify your goals, and remove barriers to recovery, setting the stage for breakthroughs.

M = Methods: I work with you to solve your problems, and teach you powerful tools and methods you can use yourself in the future to stay well and live your life Feeling Great!

TEAM CBT will help with:

Most people with clearly defined behavioral and emotional concerns tend to reap the benefits of CBT. If any of the above issues resonate with you, I encourage you to try TEAM CBT.

With TEAM CBT, you’ll be able to adjust the thoughts that directly influence your emotions and behavior. This adjustment process is referred to as cognitive reconstructing, which happens through TEAM CBT and it’s hundreds of Methods! You will become your own therapist and have these skills for the remainder of your life.

Cognitive behavioral therapy is much more than sitting and talking about whatever comes to mind during a session. CBT sessions are structured to ensure that the therapist and the person in treatment are focused on your goals of each session, which in turn ensures that each and every session is productive.
