Clinical Social Worker/Therapist, LCSW, PPSC
I work with adults, children, teens, and families, outdoors at regional parks, or teletherapy. As a Level 4 Certified TEAM-CBT Therapist and Trainer, I have extensive experience in this evidence-based approach to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Flash Technique, which I use extensively in my work with trauma and addictions.
I incorporate other trusted models such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MSBR) that provide present moment awareness and stability. Using TEAM-CBT as a foundation, together with these other evidence-based approaches, is transformative to people’s minds, behaviors, and hearts. When they do this practice, a minimum of 20 minutes a day required to see results, my clients are transformed from “human doers-reactors” into “human beings” who feel a sense of wholeness and stability, and are capable of creativity, connection, and setting healthy boundaries.
Ultimately, clients leave therapy feeling confident, knowing “I got this!” Even when blindsided by uncertainty. I work with a breadth of clients from ages 7 upward from various racial, ethnic, and gender identities. My clients say I create trust quickly, with an easy and likeable demeanor, and use humor to break through moments of awkwardness.
I grew up in the East Bay. I’m a dual US/EU citizen, played soccer in Europe, and created a wine brand that was distributed in the US and Europe. I understand what it’s like to be out there, taking risks while balancing a healthy lifestyle and relationships. I’m a certified yoga instructor, sit long meditation retreats, and I love to ski. My newest interest is scuba diving!
I have been working with clients since the pandemic started in beautiful regional parks (Sugarloaf in Walnut Creek), that are secluded for privacy, and at the same time give an abundance of space to practice methods. My clients, including those with complex trauma, are reporting more enjoyable experiences with outdoor/nature therapy than back in the office. I have a therapy dog named, Artemis (Artie), a Labrador retriever who regularly accompanies me in outdoor sessions (unless otherwise requested).
I am currently seeing clients online and outdoors including practicing nature therapy at local regional trails/parks (like Sugarloaf in Walnut Creek).
I use HIPPA compliant Zoom to see my clients online.
